The Syria Policy Club is an initiative of the Candid Foundation with the purpose of animating an interdisciplinary expert discussion with the participation of CEO Daniel Gerlach and moderated by the Research Director, Dr. Naseef Naeem. Participants discuss the political, social, economic, cultural, and security situation in Syria and its implications for the international arena and the Syrian diaspora. Meetings take place every other month, with different Syrian experts and topics each time. The aim is a constant and ongoing critical appraisal of the situation, with practical suggestions to improve the country’s transformation.

During the first meeting, held on 17 November 2025, the debate focused on the Syrian government’s work, the concentration of powers, and the challenges of fragmentation.
