“EU Med means Business – Shaping the future of entrepreneurship in the South”

CONFERENCE, 21st and 22nd May 2019 in Brussels, belgium

The conference, hosted and initiated by the European Commission, aims to provide the space for an open debate across the Mediterranean to discuss the challenges and opportunities for investment and entrepreneurship in the Neighbourhood South.

The voices and ideas of young entrepreneurs will be fed into a new policy cycle at the European Commission. The discussions will conclude in a set of recommendations for policy makers at the European Commission and in the region on how to continue supporting entrepreneurs and facilitating investment.

 Libya Uncharted

Pictures tell a story. In this photo award photographers are invited to tell a different story about Libya. And thereby give the full picture. Libyans across the country are encouraged to shape the inner and outer perception of Libyan society, which is shaken by the ongoing civil war, in a deliberately different, colorful and diversified way.

A jury of renowned photographers, journalists and art experts selects three winners on topics suchs as identity, work, culture, Ramadan, sport and life in Libya.

The project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

“Development of a qualification course for counselors in the framework of „deradicalisation / counseling of the social environment”

research project, 2019

An interdisciplinary team of researchers and experts is developing a qualification course for counselors in the framework of radicalization. In a first phase of the project, existing teaching and learning materials were identified and analyzed, discussions with experts were held and on the basis of these findings a preliminary curriculum was prepared. As a next step, the research team defined a guideline for the preparation of the textbook contributions as well as compiled the first textbook contributions on relevant topics such as de-radicalization and djihadism.
